about
Written in collaboration with a good friend and Nashville-based songwriter Vinnie Paolizzi, ‘Doesn’t Rain In LA’ grapples with the denial of not wanting a friend to leave their hometown and searches for a reason that will convince them to stay.
Shattering the illusions of Hollywood, the lyrics come as a warning of the brutal environment that awaits a girl chasing her dream to become an actor. While it speaks to Vinnie’s friend who was moving to LA when the pair wrote the song in 2018, the sentiment is universal and one to which all can relate.
“I guess most people have gone through the experience of someone close to them leaving town. It's never a good feeling. Sometimes your emotions can become clouded and you might try and talk the person out of it. Maybe because you’re selfish, other times because you genuinely think they're making the wrong decision.”

--- LYRICS ---
She’s a flower not quite ready to bloom
She needs water, to lay down her roots
It’s not my place to say, that it doesn’t rain in LA
She’s on fire, but she’ll burn out
There’s too many stars as it is and they litter that town
If you need another reason to stay
I’ve heard, it doesn’t rain in LA
If Arizona doesn’t eat you alive
It’s like a Tennessee summer kicked into overdrive
If you're looking for a getaway, it doesn’t rain in LA
She’s on fire, but she’ll burn out
There’s too many stars as it is and they litter that town
If you need another reason to stay
I’ve heard, it doesn’t rain in LA
No it doesn’t, no it doesn’t
Rain
No it doesn’t, no it doesn’t
Rain
She’s on fire, but she’ll burn out
There’s too many stars as it is and they litter that town
If you need another reason to stay
I’ve heard, it doesn’t rain in LA
No it doesn’t, no it doesn’t
Rain
No it doesn’t, no it doesn’t
Rain
